Our very own David Hodgkins is profiled in the November/December issue of Maine Magazine, with the headline, “Clothier, gentleman, arbiter of good taste.”
Indeed. On behalf of David Wood, McKenzie Tribe and Barbour by David Wood, we couldn’t agree more. Thank you Maine Magazine!
See you soon,
We are very excited about our new footwear line, Michael Toschi. I asked Michael to summarize his design philosophy which he has below. Pictured is our personal favorite, the “Sydney” boot. A more stylish and functional shoe does not exist.
“Performance Luxury. I use that term because it best describes what I strive to achieve with my products. My goal is to fuse intellect with beauty, and create things that perform as luxuriously as they look. The relationship a product has with its owner is important, especially if it was acquired for service. With my design background in developing high performance athletic footwear and my sense of quality derived from my Italian heritage, I never could understand why some products were designed with only half the consideration. Why should style negate performance, or quality sacrifice comfort? I have dedicated my life and the direction of my company to craft superior products that deliver technology, quality, style and comfort without compromising each other. As I am dedicated to men’s products, I see textures, colors and form as a language to communicate the tangible and intangible values of masculinity. Through my product offerings, I hope to relate to those who treasure the type of details that seem to get neglected in so many things these days.”

We are happy to announce that the delightfully stylish woolen scarves from Drakes of London have arrived stateside and are now available at David Wood. Just in the nick of time, we think.
In bold, handsome colors like true navy matched with cherry red dots, royal purple combined with classic gray and Fair Isle patchworked with Scottish Tartan, these little mufflers are reversible, eye catching, and as Drakes of London likes to say, capture that “quirky London chic” like nothing we’ve seen.
In a place where outerwear becomes the most important component of one’s wardrobe for several months at a time, we say bring on the bluster. We shall weather it in style.
